Wanted breakfast, at the airport,  nonetheless. This place makes omelets big enough for two people for $6. They were fast and the food was good. We had plenty of time, so we could have stood in line at the chain restaurants nearby and gotten either donuts or a prepared breakfast sandwich for the same price. Add the potatoes,  if you want a little more food for just a little bit more in cost. Probably the best airport food I've ever eaten,  from someone who travels two-four times a month.

I was about to order and saw the server or pizza man bring out one tray of dough and a stack of pre-made crusts in a plastic bag. Come to find out that only the cheese and pepperoni pizzas are stretched as made. The others are pre-made crusts and thicker.

The regular pizzas are cooked on a screen instead of on the brick oven. They have the texture of a Papa John's pizza and were thicker near the crust. They were also gooey between the crust and sauce (Joe Sbarro called that a skunk line). The sauce and cheese are a bit better. I'd rather not eat lunch than eat this stuff.

I was a Sbarro franchisee for years and made pizzas for some 15 years. This was not good. The place was clean and well presented but not good quality.

    Well, shoot.

I usually like just about any pizza I lay eyes on, but this was truly not worth the money. I ordered a slice of tomato cheese pizza and the cheese practically slid completely off, so I was essentially eating an expensive piece of soggy bread. I don't also got a side of the vegetables and they were so soggy that we had to throw them away without eating any.

The cashier station was also full of trashed receipts, so much so that we couldn't even get a napkin because they were so buried.

The employees were nice, but it was hard to get past the $20 we spent for food we barely ate.

As I sit here at gate A13 typing on my girlfriends phone, I can't help but reflect on how that was quite possibly the worst pizza I've had in the 20 years I've been on this earth. In some ways it is hard to put into words how bad that pizza was, in others it is not.

There are at least two Sbarro's in the Boston airport. Today was my opportunity to review the one in Terminal B, which is served by American Airlines.

I had timed my flight to avoid meal times but there was a 90 minute departure delay and so here I am in the airport and knowing that I will need to eat something soon. Choices in the food court of the B terminal are not great, with a Chinese place (heavy sugared sauces and fried chicken bits), McDonald's and maybe something else that I forget, and Sbarro which had their pizzas ready to eat and on display.

I got a slice of the plain cheese as it looked the lightest and least greasy compared to the pepperoni, pepperoni and mushroom, pepperoni and sausage, and pineapple and sausage. It was not the usual thick and tasteless, instead it was thin crust and it did have a decent flavor. I had added a packet of red pepper flakes, too.

They also have some tossed salads and pasta dishes with sauce.

The restaurant is clean and the (airport) prices are clearly marked.
